"EVERY SAINT HAS A PAST & EVERY SINNER A FUTURE" - "EVERY SAINT HAS A PAST & EVERY SINNER A FUTURE" - Oscar Wilde! . Every biblical personality who was used by God in great ways had "flaws". Many even incurred "serious sins." However, this didn't stop God from using or loving them. . Noah got drunk; Jacob was a liar & deceiver; Moses murdered a man; Judah slept with prostitutes; Samson was a vengeful, womanizer; David murdered & had an affair; Rahab was a prostitute; . The Point: If God can use them. God can use anyone! . When the woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus. His reply was: "I do not condemn you. Go and sin no more." . "Sin" means "to miss the mark" So, Jesus was saying "Stop missing the mark. Aim correctly." . Therefore, if God doesn't condemn us, why do we so harshly condemn ourselves. We often judge ourselves more harshly than we ever would a friend. A sad fact is that research shows, 80% of people are nicer to others than they are themselves. . God loves us even with all our perceived imperfections. God doesn't condemn us for mistakes. God knows that we are learners in this life. We are going to stumble and fall. Evern Jesus fell 3 times when carrying his cross. . Let's strive to LOVE OURSELVES as God loves us! Definitely seek to learn from mistakes so we can aim correctly in our lives. But, we shouldn't think any less of ourselves for any mistakes we have made. In fact, many of us probably haven't made as bad of a mistake as David & Moses who murdered people! . And God LOVED & USED THEM FOR MANY GREAT THINGS! . So, remember that each day is a new opportunity to be a bit better than yesterday! Let go of the shame or guilt. Strive to become better and know that in whatever state you find yourself, GOD CAN & WILL USE YOU if you are open to being used by God. . St Francis of Assisi, one of my favorite saints once said: "I have been all things unholy.
