SILENT MEDITATION RETREAT: An Afternoon of Silence

It’s easy to become distracted by the constant sounds, mental chatter, and business of life. But, when we make a place for silence, we make room for ourselves. Who you are, is infinitely greater than who you imagine yourself to be. Unfortunately, not many people take time to step away from the world, enter the silence, and seek to remember who they really are.
Join meditation teacher and mindfulness expert, Anthony Profeta, for an afternoon retreat of silent meditation practice and an opportunity to cultivate present moment awareness.
Sitting silently & observing our object of meditation focuses our minds, sharpens our awareness, & quiets the body. This leads us to an observation of self; an observation of our experience as it is; it allows us to attune to the flow of life within & without, allows us the chance to listen deeply to our body, mind, & soul; hear our inner voice; and offers us the possibility of discovering the gift of the present moment and awakening to the truth of who & what we are.
Please don’t feel intimidated as this retreat will not be 6-hrs of straight sitting, but rather consist of 30-minute meditation sessions & 10-minute stretching/walking breaks in between each session. The retreat will end with a 5-10 minute guided loving-kindness practice during which we will end by sending out loving thoughts and energies to ourselves, others, and the world.
This experience is open to EVERYONE. Beginners are welcome, but of course some meditation experience is recommended.
You may wish to wear comfortable clothes, and bring a water bottle & journal with you. You will be asked to please leave your cell phones in your car or shut them off upon entering the building.
Also, please try to arrive 10 minutes early as we will begin promptly at 12:00pm!
