In this video Anthony Profeta gives a brief talk about the lovingkindness (metta) method of meditation and then guides you through a formal practice.

Lovingkindness Meditation is a formal meditation practice which comes out of the Buddhist tradition but you by no means have to be Buddhist to practice this method. What we do in this method is send out positive thoughts and wish for others what we wish for ourselves. During the practice, we will be cultivating and sending out thoughts of love, happiness, healing, and peace. Qualities that transcend any one tradition and are universal qualities that all human beings are seeking. The lovingkindness practice allows us to transform feelings of anger, hate, or indifference into compassion and friendliness. It can also boost our concentration, well-being and reduce stress.
