“EVERY SAINT HAS A PAST & EVERY SINNER A FUTURE” - Oscar Wilde! . Every biblical personality who was used by God in great ways had “flaws”. Many made what would be considered “serious sins.” However, their actions didn’t stop God from using them. It didn’t stop God from loving them. Noah got drunk; Jacob was a liar & deceiver; Moses murdered a man; Judah slept with prostitutes; Samson was a vengeful, womanizer; David had an affair & then was responsible for the death of the husband of the woman; Rahab was a prostitute; . 🔑The Key Point: If God can use them. God can use anyone! God loves us even with all our perceived imperfections. God doesn’t condemn us for mistakes. God knows that we are learners in this life. We are human! We are going to stumble and fall. Evern Jesus fell 3 times when carrying his cross. He even needed someone to help him carry it for a while. . We should definitely seek to learn from our mistakes so that we can aim correctly in our lives. But, we shouldn’t think any less of ourselves for any mistakes we have made. In fact, many of us probably haven’t made as bad of a mistake as David & Moses - who murdered people! . And yet, even with such a “grievous sins” God still LOVED & USED THEM for many GREAT THINGS! Each day is a new opportunity to be better than you were yesterday! Don’t go through life carrying shame or guilt. When you make mistakes forgive yourself! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and just start again. Strive to become better and know that in whatever state you find yourself, GOD CAN & WILL USE YOU if you are open to being used by God. . St Francis of Assisi, one of my favorite saints once said: “I have been all things unholy. If God could use me, He could use anyone.” .
